HIPAA

HIPAA, or the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, is a federal law enacted in 1996 in the United States. Its primary purpose is to safeguard patient privacy and ensure the security and confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) within the healthcare industry. HIPAA applies to various entities, including healthcare providers, health plans, and healthcare clearinghouses, as well as their business associates who have access to patient data.

The significance of HIPAA lies in its role in protecting patients' sensitive information and maintaining data security. Patient privacy is a fundamental aspect of healthcare, as individuals need to trust that their personal health information will be kept confidential. HIPAA establishes standards and regulations to ensure that healthcare organizations handle PHI responsibly and securely.


Basics of GDPR

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) went into effect on May 25, 2018.

 

As its name implies, the regulation focuses on data protection while emphasizing data privacy.

Attentive Assessment Course

 

Welcome to the Attentive Assessment Course!

 

Take the course in sequential order and ensure you mark each module as 'Completed'. 

 

 

 

A lesson consists of training videos, transcriptions, and a quiz.

Watch each lesson's video and take notes using the transcription before doing its corresponding training quiz (you can try them as many times as you need)

You'll need to complete a lesson before you can move on to the next one.

You can proceed to the final quizzes when all lessons are complete.

Please note that the final quiz for each lesson can only be taken once. ONLY start the final quizzes when you are confident with all the subject matter.

 

 

You will be evaluated on your:

  • Ability to retain information

  • Ability to search for information

  • Written English

 

Tips/Tricks:

  • Make a google document for your notes

  • Install Grammarly, it will help you avoid silly mistakes

  • Make as many notes as possible, the questions can be about anything even the smallest detail

  • Refer to the Attentive Vocabulary document to become more familiar with common terms

  • Print out the results to your training quizzes as reference material for the final quizzes
